New Honda S2000 might get eco-friendly light
Honda has hinted that it might introduce a new S2000 if the business is positive it can offer sufficient of them to make a company case.
Speaking at the 2017 Tokyo motor Show, Takahiro Hachigo said: “Honda is quick to establish stylish cars and trucks if requests are there. I’ve already heard numerous voices expressing a wish for a new S2000.

“All over the world there are much more as well as much more voices expressing a wish to introduce this. However, we requirement much more time to evaluate,” Hachigo-san added. “Our very first concern is to have an development of our present performance cars and trucks for the next generation, however if the sales people can provide us a commitment to sales then it [S2000] may get the eco-friendly light.”

The news comes after a set of patent renders submitted by Honda were discovered, hinting at a prospective new sports cars and truck according to our predictions. The patent iself relates to the car’s interior, not the exterior design.
Back in 2015 we reported that an S2000 replacement, dubbed the infant NSX would function a mid-mounted version of the Civic type R’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Now, according to a source close to Honda, pressure to abide by stringent emissions policies has required the business to downsize the engine to a 1.5-litre turbo which, with electric motor assistance, is expected to produce around 300bhp.
