Audi A4, A4 Avant and A5 coupe Ultra revealed

Audi has launched efficient Ultra models of the A4, A4 Avant and A5 coupe. The three models all feature visual and engine tweaks to boost efficiency and will arrive in April, priced from £28,320, £29,620 and £31,120 respectively.
All A4 and A5 Ultra models come fitted with lowered suspension to reduce drag and help increase economy. The new variants will look similar to their SE counterparts and only marked out by discreet ‘Ultra’ badging on the rear.

• Audi A5 and A6 Ultra
The new 161bhp 2.0-litre TDI ultra engine is mated to a six-speed manual in all models. Torque has been upped from 380Nm to 400Nm and is available across a wider band of the rev range. Audi claims 56.5mpg and 109g/km of CO2 in A4 models, while the larger A5 Coupe should return 55.4mpg and emit 114g/km.
The improvements in efficiency mean the new Ultra variants become a more appealing package for company car buyers, as all models drop to VED band B. BIK ratings are ranked at 16 per cent for the A4 and A5 Coupe, with the A4 Avant rated at 17 per cent.
The A5 coupe will only be available in SE trim, while A4 and A4 Avant are offered in both SE and more premium SE Technik spec which adds £1,000 to the price tag. standard kit on all models includes a 6.5-inch colour monitor, DAB radio, auto lights and wipers, electronic climate control, rear parking sensors and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Audi will continue its expansion of the Ultra range, starting with the five-door A5 Sportback later this year.
